Research and Development

 

Thanks to the in-house research and development department, Neschen Coating provides customers the greatest possible flexibility. As a Neschen customer, you can, therefore, choose from a wide range of standard products from our portfolio of self-adhesive films and protective films. These standard products can also be customised according to individual customer requirements. Depending on the complexity of your requirements, our team of experts will develop fully individual product solutions. Our R&D department in Bückeburg incorporates a large variety of waterbased adhesive formulations and develops an array of surface finishes.

Always working close to our customers

In the in-house R&D department, Neschen Coating directly responds to market requirements:
Neschen, the innovator of dot-shaped adhesive, developed the easy dot® product portfolio to solve adhesion problems
caused by trapped air under the substrate. The development of
this "air release" technology allows for air bubbles that form under the material during application to be simply
pushed outside through the tunnels between the individual adhesive dots. This ensures a bubble-free application.

 

 

Our R&D laboratory is equipped with everything required for the development of coatings, the analysis and pretreatment of plastic films and their surfaces, as well as the assessement and definition of adhesive properties. These include a corona pre-treatment laboratory system, a drop-shape analyser for testing surface energy and a high-speed release tester for testing release values at high speeds, e.g. relevant for label materials.

Prototypes can thus be tested down to the smallest detail in the laboratory and, if successful,
transferred completely to production.

 

 

 

Additionally, ageing properties are evaluated and the products go through various stages of application testing. In the testing lab it is for example possible to determine application limits and to assess the service life and durability in time-lapse.
